At ELLIN & CO. your absolute privacy and data security are the foundational principles of Notes Nine (the “App”). We built this application specifically to provide a quiet, secure, and entirely private space for your personal journaling, daily devotions, and studies.

This Privacy Policy explains how we protect your information. In short: We do not collect, track, store, or transmit your personal data.

1. 100% Local Device Storage

Notes Nine operates as a completely private, offline-first application.

  • Zero Cloud Syncing: All of your personal data—including journal entries, reflections, and notes—is stored exclusively on your device’s local encrypted storage.
  • No Telemetry: We do not track your usage patterns, clicks, or read times.
  • Your Device, Your Data: Because your data never leaves your device, we have absolutely no access to your personal thoughts or entries.

2. Advanced Security Architecture

To ensure your data remains impenetrable, Notes Nine is built with rigorous, modern security constraints:

  • Disabled Cloud Backups: We have strictly disabled allowBackup at the Android system level. This ensures that third-party cloud services (including Google Drive auto-backups) cannot accidentally or intentionally extract your unencrypted journal data off your device.
  • No Cleartext Traffic: The app strictly forbids unencrypted (HTTP) network traffic. All necessary content delivery is secured via strict SSL/HTTPS protocols.
  • Code Obfuscation: The application is compiled using advanced R8 minification and ProGuard rules to protect the integrity of the application’s secure architecture against reverse-engineering.

3. Data Collection

We collect no personal data.

  • No accounts or registrations are required.
  • No email addresses are collected.
  • No tracking cookies, advertising IDs, or analytic SDKs (such as Google Analytics or Crashlytics) are embedded in the app.

The App retrieves curated reading content (Devotions and Studies) securely from our proprietary content servers. This process is strictly a one-way retrieval; absolutely no user data, device identifiers, or reading preferences are sent back to our servers.

4. Third-Party Access

Because we collect no data, we have no data to share. We do not sell, rent, or trade any information to third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.

5. Managing Your Data

You have complete sovereignty over your data. Since all journal entries and reflections are stored locally on your device:

  • Deletion: You can permanently erase all your data at any time simply by deleting the app or clearing the app’s data in your device’s System Settings. Once deleted, it is permanently irrecoverable.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect changes in our security practices or legal requirements. However, our core commitment to absolute offline privacy and zero data collection will never change.
